Week 10 marked the final integration phase of this ten-week journey, and my biggest challenge was escaping what my tutors call the ‘bullet-point mindset’. In my early drafts, my paragraphs felt disconnected, reading like a laundry list of what different authors said, rather than a continuous, cohesive argument.
To achieve a high-scoring Literature Review, I spent this week restructuring my sentences to ensure synthesis. Instead of writing separate paragraphs for separate authors, I blended them together. For example, I rewrote sections so that Uliasz’s (2016) concepts of digital lenses directly challenged Katz’s (2013) rules within the same paragraph, using cohesive linking words like consequently, conversely, and nevertheless. I am proud of the final outcome. I have successfully transformed a messy collection of notes into a polished, deeply integrated, and highly critical evaluation of digital cinematography literature. This solid theoretical foundation is now fully complete and ready for submission.
