WEEK 17

As my proposal approaches its final structural assembly, Week 17 was dedicated to independent project management and time-allocation planning. In British postgraduate research, beautiful theoretical ideas mean nothing without concrete execution timelines. To address this, I spent my independent learning hours constructing a comprehensive Gantt chart to map out the exact progression of my upcoming thesis journey.

This exercise forced me to be painfully honest about my academic writing habits. I critically divided the remaining research months into sequential milestones, allocating precise timeframes for deep text coding, theoretical synthesis, drafting, and proofreading. I also deliberately inserted two ‘buffer weeks’ before the absolute submission deadline to accommodate unforeseen technical delays or health issues. Autonomously designing this timeline transformed my proposal from a loose collection of academic promises into an actionable, professional research contract, proving to myself and my assessors that the project is completely viable.
