WEEK 9

During Week 9, I shifted my attention toward the structural and formal mechanics of my Literature Review, specifically focusing on the precision of academic integrity. In British higher education, incorrect referencing can severely damage the credibility of an otherwise excellent paper. Therefore, I dedicated this week to systematically organising my sources using the Harvard Reference System.

I discovered that many automated citation generators make critical mistakes with metadata, such as misidentifying online animation journals as web pages or omitting the names of co-directors for digital film texts. I spent hours manually cross-checking every in-text citation, ensuring they followed the correct (Author, Year) formatting, and matching them precisely with a comprehensive bibliography at the end of my document. This process required a high level of patience, but ensuring that authors like Block (2020) and Mercado (2010) are cited flawlessly gives my academic text a high level of professional authority before it is read.
